المرض المشترك الأساسي هنا اسمه الببغائية (psittacosis)، وسببه بكتيريا Chlamydia psittaci.

وأي أعراض تنفسية عند إنسان في بيت فيه طيور دي حاجة تتقال للطبيب البشري، لأنه ممكن ما يسألش عنها.The zoonosis that matters here is psittacosis, caused by the bacterium Chlamydia psittaci.

The MSD Veterinary Manual records that the bacteria are present in nasal discharge and in droppings from sick birds, recovering birds and carriers — so a bird that looks well is not evidence.

It records that human cases are most associated with people who work with birds, pet bird owners and veterinarians.

It records that controlling draughts and using appropriate disinfectants reduces spread of the bacteria in dust and feather dander, and that hygiene is vital when handling a sick bird: gloves, thorough handwashing afterwards, and disinfecting cages, feeders and feeding utensils daily.

Respiratory symptoms in a person living with birds are worth mentioning to their own doctor, who may not think to ask.
